WHAT IS A TEMPLATE?
A template is a paper replication of a window opening. Your window treatment fabricator will use the template you provide to produce your treatment.
Templates remove the most nagging nemesis of selling specialty window treatments — inaccurate measurements. Our templates fit perfectly and are fabricator-ready.
Provide us with your measurements and we will print out a full-size paper template of your window. The fabricator will follow the outline of the template minus their allowances.
THE ORDERING PROCESS
Measure Your Window
Measure as you would for any other shade, blind, or shutter. Based on the shape, different measurements are required. Do not take I.B. allowances.
Choose Your Shape
Browse our catalog of 30+ standard shapes. Choose the one that matches your window opening. Custom shapes with cut-outs and bay angles are also available.
Place Your Order
Enter your dimensions, add to cart, and submit your order with your shipping address. Actual USPS Ground Advantage shipping cost is billed post-shipment.
Receive Your Template
Your template is printed on heavy-duty bond coated paper, rolled, and shipped in a tube via USPS Ground Advantage. Actual shipping cost is rounded up to the nearest $0.50.
MEASURING TIPS
No allowances needed. Provide us with the actual window opening measurements. Do not take I.B. (inside bracket) allowances or other deductions unless instructed by your fabricator. No allowances are taken by us.
Width and height. For most shapes, you need the maximum width and maximum height of the window opening. For arches, this is typically the width at the widest point and the height from the sill to the top of the arch.
Specialty shapes. For trapezoids and triangles, you may need additional measurements such as the top width, bottom width, and height. The dimension labels are shown when you configure each shape.
Custom shapes. Have a unique window shape? Contact us with a sketch and dimensions. We handle cut-outs, bay angles, and other specialties.
